Cfont Pro is a great premium quality font manager which is now free. You can preview fonts from any folder, CD, disk, or network drive with a complete property listing of each, and even export the proof sheet to a webpage (HTML) or Rich Text Format file (RTF) for offline viewing. It has an advanced character magnifier and property viewer too, to view the complete properties and sample font sizes of any font and compare one font characteristics to another.

Given a folder, FontViewer will show you all the fonts it contains. Simply choose the drive and directory where the font files are located. They will appear on the right, with their file names.

FontFrenzy helps solve the problem of Windows font overload. The special FrenzySnap function enables you to establish “restore points” and re-install the fonts that were in your system on a specific date. FontFrenzy is also a great general font manager. It has the ability to preview, print, add and delete fonts.

MasterLister is a suite of 3 utilities that allow you to make inventory lists of the contents of your computer. Creating a book of various fonts sounds like it would be a handy tool for creative collaboration between individuals.

DoubleType is an open source graphical typeface designer that builds TrueType font files. Glyphs are stored in XML based file to aid collaboration using existing tools such as CVS.
